Spire Global, and a recent press release.

At the recent INFOCOMM Show in Orlando, CS&A was made aware of a press release regarding Spire Global, the exclusive Master Distributor for SONY's Video Conferencing products, and a manufacturer of acoustic echo cancelling DSP products announcing a strategic alliance and a "bundle" or "packaging" of some of the two companies products.

The press release was not issued by Spire Global.

Cardone, Solomon & Associates is an Independent Manufacturers Representative for Biamp Systems based in Portland Oregon.

The company that Spire has entered into this strategic alliance with, and who is based in Salt Lake City, UT. manufacturers competing products to Biamp's acoustic echo canceling products from Biamp's Audia and Nexia family of DSP products.
Biamp Systems is also currently involved in litigation with the Salt Lake City based company.

Because of CS&A's long representation of Biamp Systems, CS&A can not support and will not sell any such bundles associated with the Spire and other manufacturers "Bundle".

CS&A will continue to sell and support the full line of Biamp Systems offerings as well as the full line of SONY Video Conferencing products distributed by Spire Global up to, but not including the recently announced "Bundles".

Should you have any questions, please contact CS&A principals John Cardone or Michael Solomon.

New Iconyx R Models Now Shipping,

Iconyx "A" Discontinued

Foothill Ranch, CA – (March 2009)

Renkus-Heinz proudly announces that the Iconyx Digitally Steerable Array Systems has migrated all (IC) models to the new RHAON platform (IC-R).

The highly successful Iconyx product line (A Series) is being discontinued in lieu of the new “R” series.  The new "R" series boasts the new purpose-designed coaxial transducers, and RHAON (Renkus-Heinz Audio Operations Network) control platform technology and a slimmer, lighter weight enclosure.

The new "R" series will allow Iconyx users far more functionality than its previous A series, including monitoring, pre-set capabilities, and complete control via the RHAON Network.

“Iconyx has been one of our most successful products,” says Renkus-Heinz Vice President of Operations Rik Kirby, “we’ve had lots of opportunities to see how the system performs in applications from cathedrals to cruise ships, courtrooms to corporate auditoriums.

As we evaluated the total Iconyx system, we identified significant improvements in many areas.” Inside every Iconyx R model are new co-axial transducers developed specifically for digitally steered arrays.

“To narrow the vertical directivity at high frequencies, we designed these drivers with a vertical array of dual dome tweeters,” says Renkus-Heinz Senior Vice President Ralph Heinz.

“We’ve been able to significantly attenuate grating lobes, making the array’s output even more coherent and produce even better intelligibility.” The new drivers maintain the consistent wide horizontal dispersion that has proven to be invaluable in Iconyx applications.

For more information on the new "R" series of Iconyx, please visit the Renkus-Heinz website by clicking on the Iconyx picture to the left.

All orders for existing Iconyx "A" series will be accepted until March 20, 2009.

Orders placed after March 20 will be converted to the new "R", or RHAON Versions.

Service parts will be kept in inventory to address all warranty related issues for any Iconyx "A" series products.

Please contact your CS&A Representative if you have any questions.

Renkus-Heinz Appoints Scott Pizzo as East Coast Regional Sales Manager

March 2008 - Foothill Ranch, CA
Renkus-Heinz has named Scott Pizzo to the new position of East Coast Regional Sales Manager. “We created this regional manager position in order to maintain and strengthen our support for dealers and their key customers,” said Renkus-Heinz President Harro Heinz. “The demand for our products continues to grow as more people become aware of the superior value and performance they provide. At the same time, the advanced technologies we have brought to market in the past couple of years require a high level of support and training. Since our factory and headquarters are on the West Coast, the eastern region was an easy choice as the first priority for an expansion of our sales organization.”

“We’re very pleased to have Scott Pizzo on board to work with our dealers and reps in the eastern states,” said National Sales Manager David Rahn. “His experience with the EAW and EAW Commercial lines has made Scott familiar with the problems that live sound reinforcement professionals face every day. He has compiled a successful track record based on strong product demonstration, technical support and training skills – exactly the kind of support our business partners need.”

Scott previously worked with LOUD Technologies as EAW Commercial Director of Sales, US and Canada and also as Sales Manager for Lexicon. When not on the road supporting systems integrators, consultants and their clients, Scott remains active as an independent sound mixer, working with nationally and internationally known artists and major corporate events. PIzzo is also a recording engineer with major and independent label credits. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Lowell with a Bachelor of Music Performance – Emphasis in Sound Recording Technology, he resides in Massachusetts.

SurgeX Goes Green- First with RoHS
SurgeX first to go Green

Pennsylvania, USA

SurgeX, the worlds leading manufacturer of professional surge eliminators and AC power conditioners, announced that their product line is now RoHS compliant and is the first in this product category to do so.

“This effort on behalf of SurgeX ownership, engineering and material procurement has been a long process, but we are extremely proud of this important milestone for our company” said Michael McCook, SurgeX Senior Principal.

RoHS stands for ‘Restriction of Hazardous Substances’ in electrical and electronic equipment.  The RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union and took effect on 1 July 2006.  This directive restricts the use of Lead (Pb), Cadmium (Cd), Mercury (Hg), Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBB), Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers (PBDE) and Hexavalent Chromium.

Andy Benton, SurgeX Director of Engineering adds, “At SurgeX, we're not satisfied with just being a technology leader, we strive to be a leader in every way. Being the first US power conditioner manufacturer to embrace RoHS is just one more in a long line of firsts for us. But then on the personal level, it makes me happy to think that our products no longer contain harmful materials such as lead and will not pose a threat to future generations."

“With all the new Green initiatives our industry must now adopt in terms of RoHS and LEED, I would expect nothing less from SurgeX to be the first manufacturer to come in line with these necessary requirements.  We are happy SurgeX has understood what needs to be done to continue to be the market leader in this segment” says manufacturer rep John Cardone of New York based Cardone, Solomon and Associates.

SurgeX has been producing AC Power products for the professional A/V marketplace and Industry for over thirteen years and is located in Pipersville, Pennsylvania, USA.
